Cascading Failures by Joshua Harmon
I like to envision these poems being scribbled in the dust of a dashboard after careening through the secret back roads of western Mass to a soundtrack of lost classics. Harmon's sparse poetics evoke the 24 hour rest stop at the 23rd hour; the cracked passenger window letting in tufts of autumn's woodsmoke. With Cascading Failures Harmon has once again reasserted himself as the true heir to the throne.
