A Strange Community by Leanna Oen

$6.50 / Sold Out

Emily Dickinson is buried in a graveyard behind the office building where Leanna Oen works. Often on her lunch break, Leanna will visit Emily's grave. A Strange Community reflects upon on notion that the solitude we seek is vastly different than - yet strangely similar to - the solitude that is ultimately levied upon us. Oen's visual essay, drawn with a minimalist hand dripping with a weighted complexity that brilliantly pays tribute to the poetry of its subject, is a bonafide masterpiece. It is an honor to have this among our ranks.
